Estus Flask
Used to gather Estus at bonfires for HP recovery in the field.
Obtained in the Undead Asylum, behind a broken wall. Using a bonfire will recover the number of times you can drink from the flask up to the limit of that particular fire. The starting number of "swigs" you recover from any fire is five. Using the "Kindle" command at a fire, and thus spending one Humanity point, will increase the recovery rate to 10.
  • The max amount of Estus Flasks a player can carry is 20.
  • Estus Flasks can only be upgraded to +7.
  • Can't be used as any kind of phantom.
  • If a host uses a Estus Flask and they have summoned a phantom, it heals the host AND the phantom.

skull_lantern.png
Skull Lantern
Holding it in the left hand (shield-hand) and holding L1 or LB causes it to light an area around the character like a torch.
Classed as it's own unique weapon type, "Lantern", the Skull Lantern actually functions as a shield in the left hand, and a weapon in the right, but with very little protective or offensive capacity. It's main purpose is to create light for use in dark areas. Drops from necromancers in Catacombs.
It is also found in the Tomb of Giants. You will receive it at the lowest level of the area.
2043.png

Using it as an item causes you to use the binoculars to see further.

Darksign.png
Darksign
Sends the user back to the last used bonfire upon death.
Can be used as an item (unlimited uses) to warp back to previous bonfire at any point, losing all souls and humanity. If you are human you will not become hollow.
Available from game start. It is recommended in all cases to use a Homeward Bone for quick travel, which will retain humanity and souls - regular death is also a better method than using Darksign, since that will leave a bloodstain, whilst the Darksign will not.
Dragon_Head_Stone.png
Dragon Head Stone
Turns your head into one of a dragon.
In order to use this successfully, no head armor must be equipped. The effect will last until you die. With a Dragon Head, your fire power increases.

Turns you completely into a Dragonoid.
Using the Dragon Stone will activate an ability similar to Miracle: Force, knocking back opponents. Also for a few seconds, your attack strength will increase 25%. Like with the Dragon Head, the effect will last until you die.
Offer 30 Dragon Scales to the Everlasting Dragon.
2132.png
Black Eye Orb
Invade the world of the murderer of a firekeeper.
See this page for information.
Found on the corpse of the murdered firekeeper. It is used in Anor Londo.
Silver Pendant.png
Silver Pendant
Creates a field around the player that deflects Dark Magic for a few seconds. It is activated in a way similar to Force, though the player is able to move briefly whilst the pendant is still in effect.
Will deflect: Dark Orb, Dark Bead, magic attacks used by Oolacile Sorcerers and Manus.
Will not deflect: Occult miracles, Kalameet's Fire Breath. It will ward off Pursuers, but it cannot annul the projectiles completely, making it a poor solution against the spell.
Found behind an illusory wall in Upper Oolacile Township, though unlike other illusory walls, it will require a light source of some sort to uncover. Skull Lantern, Cast Light spell and Sunlight Maggot are confirmed to work.

Boss Souls

Souls that can either be consumed like regular souls, or used in the creation of unique Weapons. To ascend a regular weapon with a Boss Soul, the weapon must be of the respective weapon type required to create a unique weapon (e.g. to create the Moonlight Butterfly Horn, you must use either a rapier or a spear - no other class of weapon will work), and the weapon must be upgraded to 10+. Catalysts cannot be upgraded, so can be ascended by default. To create +10 weapons, you will need to obtain the Large Ember from The Depths, then give it to Andre who will be available to ascend +5 weapons. To create the Boss Soul weapons, you simply need to talk to the Giant Blacksmith in Anor Londo, who will offer the option immediately.

Embers

Embers are given to blacksmiths so they can grant weapon ascension used in modifying weapons. These items are listed as keys. Once you obtain an ember and hand it over to the qualified Blacksmith, he will be able to do that upgrade to any weapon as many times as you want (as long as you have the materials of course) The embers must be acquired again each playthrough!
